Carbon-negative building materials for a net-zero construction industry
We produce sustainable, bio-based insulation materials to transform the construction industry.
Our rigid insulation boards are suitable for a wide range of applications, including walls, floors, and ceilings. They can be used in new builds, prefabricated structures, and renovation projects alike.

Key Properties
Insulating properties
With a lambda value of 0.037 W/mK, Myceen’s insulation boards offer solid thermal performance for energy-efficient construction.
Fire rating
Fire class D in its natural state, without any additives.
Acoustics
The material’s density helps reduce noise from outside and between rooms, creating a quieter indoor environment.
Moisture and humidity
The wood-based material regulates humidity by absorbing and releasing moisture without loss of thermal performance. Its breathability helps prevent condensation, making it highly suitable for retrofit applications.
Carbon-storing material
We use by-products from other industries as raw materials—resources that would otherwise be incinerated for energy. Combined with our energy-efficient production process, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) results show that our material has a carbon footprint of
Regulates indoor climate
Our insulation is a breathable material. The wood fibres within the board help regulate indoor climate by absorbing and releasing humidity from the air.
Ideal for cold and hot climates
Thanks to its 100 kg/m³ density, the material stores heat effectively, providing stable indoor temperatures. It keeps heat out during summer and retains warmth during winter, making it ideal for diverse climates.

Making sustainable materials affordable at scale
Sustainable yet expensive materials won’t thrive a swift transition. We are scaling our production to launch insulation materials with better fire properties at a fraction of the price of the current sustainable alternatives.
Natural processes combined with high-tech manufacturing
We combine industrial organic residues such as sawdust, wood chips or straw with mycelium that acts as a natural binder. Mycelium allows us to transform the by-products into high-performing and affordable building materials that are healthy for people and the environment. The entire process is managed through fully automated, energy-efficient production technology.

Leftovers, not virgin wood
We don’t cut down trees to make our materials. Instead, we use abundant by-products from other industries, giving new life to what would otherwise go to waste.
Healthy material
A toxin-free, 100% safe insulation solution. Our mycelium-based material contains no synthetic additives that could compromise indoor air quality. Thanks to our specialised drying technique, mycelium growth is fully halted, making the material safe for both people and buildings.
How it's made

First we cultivate mycelium
Mycelium, the natural binder, is the key ingredient for growing our high-performing materials.

We add leftovers
Organic industrial leftovers are valorised in the process.

We create an enviroment for the mycelium to flourish
Growing: a completely new way of production. Mycelium binds the leftovers into solid, high-performing, carbon-neutral material.

We take care of the product
We nurture your product, meticulously tending to it throughout its growth stages to ensure optimal conditions for its best development.

We halt growth using our specialised drying technique to ensure our products are safe for both humans and buildings.
